Job Summary

A Construction Cost Engineer is responsible for managing and analyzing project costs to ensure efficiency, budget adherence, and financial transparency. This role involves preparing cost estimates, monitoring expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and collaborating with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain financial control over construction projects.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and analyze cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and feasibility.
  • Monitor and track actual project costs against budgeted amounts, identifying variances and providing recommendations.
  • Conduct cost forecasting and risk analysis to anticipate potential financial challenges.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to assess material, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Review and evaluate contractor and supplier bids, ensuring competitive pricing and budget alignment.
  • Assist in value engineering to optimize costs without compromising quality or safety.
  • Maintain comprehensive cost records and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and industry standards.

Education & Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, materials, and industry best practices.
